This week, we’re highlighting Zelda Wynn Valdes. A visionary fashion designer who made history as the first Black woman to own a boutique on Broadway. She designed for icons like Ella Fitzgerald and Eartha Kitt, using her creativity to help women feel powerful and seen. Later in life, she poured her talent into uplifting young dancers at the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Zelda’s story reminds us that quiet leadership, shared creativity, and dedication to others can leave a lasting legacy.
